Mayday Manufacturing is certified under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100, the globally recognized standards for quality assurance. Additionally, Mayday has been certified under the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) to test and validate the compliance of our parts with OEM and regulatory guidelines in-house. This critical distinction saves our customers time and money, opening the door for Mayday to continue discovering innovative approaches to manufacturing aircraft parts.

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish. Aluminum is ideally suited to anodizing, although other nonferrous metals, such as magnesium and titanium, also can be anodized.

Cadmium plating offers advantages such as excellent corrosion resistance even at relatively low thickness and in salt atmospheres. It also features galvanic compatibility with aluminum and freedom from stick-slip, thus allowing reliable torquing of plated threads. Cadmium plating can be dyed to many colors and clear, has good lubricity and solderability, and works well either as a final finish or as a paint base.

Cleaning is the process of removing undesirable materials that gather on product surfaces, and is a vital step to assuring that all future processes are successful. A clean surface meets all the quality and specifications to accept the next process, free of contaminates, that may affect later processes.

Conversion coatings are coatings for metals where the part surface is converted into the coating with a chemical or electro-chemical process. Examples include chromate conversion coatings, and anodizing.

Magnetic particle inspection is a nondestructive testing method used for defect detection. It uses magnetic fields and small magnetic particles to detect flaws in components, and is one of the most widely utilized nondestructive testing methods available today.

Organic coatings are materials that are applied to protect or beautify a surface. Some coatings include paints, varnishes, stains, and industrial maintenance coatings. These coatings can be applied to stationary and/or mobile sources.

Passivation is a critical step in maximizing the essential corrosion resistance of parts and components machined from stainless steels. Passivation can make the difference between satisfactory performance and premature failure. The passivation process leaves a thin transparent oxide film that protects the stainless steel from corrosion.

Penetrant testing is a widely applied inspection method used to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials like metals, plastics, or ceramics. It helps detect casting, forging and welding surface defects as well as leaks in new products, and fatigue cracks on in-service components.

Thermal treatments play a fundamental role in the preventive and curative maintenance of parts as well as in improving their resistance and appearance. These treatments are used in many sectors, especially aviation.

Zinc nickel coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that does not cause a breakdown of the substrate’s surface integrity as it is formed.
